approximately 8,000 people. Information systems used by the
Police department, Utility billing, Human resources, Finance

Designed and implemented new servers and storage systems.
Designed, managed and maintained 2 distinct networks. Networks
contained over 250 connected network devices and over 75 users.
Managed and implemented Technical Support help desk. All service
calls well documented by email “Ticket” system.
Maintained and serviced four remote offices connected Alachua
City Hall by T-1 connections.
Implemented TCP/IP core networking services using Windows 2003
server, DHCP, WINS, DNS, Active Directory.

Managed 1 Network Technician and 4 contractual Vendors.
Accomplishments:
Guided the City of Alachua IT Department through an extensive
growth phase of users and services. Starting with twenty-five
workstations and one network server in 2003, seventy-five
workstations and four servers in were under management by 2007.
Upgraded the police department server from Novell 4.1 to Windows
Server 2003. This achieved a reliable, 24/7, stable system.
System design included methods that allowed backups to occur
without interruption of data services.
Completely recovered data and data services after fire destroyed
main data center located at City Hall. Critical data services
(payroll and utility bills) were up and running within 24 hours
of the disaster.
Data service record of 99.9% up time. Maximum service outage
over 4 years of employment was 2 hours.
Flawless attendance record. Used only 2 sick days in 4 years
tenure.
